Born and raised in Pleasant Hill, CA, Dave earned a Construction Management degree from California State University, Sacramento in 1994 and began his career with Granite Construction Company in Indio, CA after graduation. After working five years at Granite, Dave held management roles with other local grading contractors gaining invaluable experience, deep industry knowledge, and extensive construction industry contacts. In 2004 Dave obtained his California contractor’s license and founded Lippert Construction, Inc. shortly afterward. Since 2005, Dave and Lippert Construction, Inc., have managed and built over $146 million of grading projects in the Coachella Valley and surrounding regions. The project combines luxury desert living with Disney-designed experiences, community programming, and hospitality-style amenities. It is being developed with Arizona-based DMB Development, while Disney Imagineering contributes the creative vision and storytelling elements. Lippert Construction, Inc. completed the rough grading for the 373-acre first phase in 2022, moving more than 3.1 million cubic yards of material. The full development spans approximately 618 acres and is planned to include nearly 1,900 homes and condominiums, along with hotels, retail spaces, restaurants, and recreation areas. The community is situated near the historic Sunnylands estate in Rancho Mirage. At the center of the development is “Cotino Bay,” a 24-acre man-made turquoise lagoon utilizing Crystal Lagoons technology. The lagoon features beaches, kayaking, paddleboarding, and waterfront gathering spaces designed to create a resort-style experience. Homes within the community are being developed by several luxury builders and include single-family residences, condominiums, and a 55+ neighborhood known as Longtable Park. Disney’s “Storyliving” concept extends throughout the project through branded experiences, entertainment programming, and hospitality-inspired amenities. The community also includes the private Artisan Club, which offers dining, fitness facilities, pools, creative spaces, and Disney-curated events for residents. One of the project’s most publicized attractions is the “Parr House,” inspired by the home featured in Pixar’s Incredibles 2. A public retail and dining district known as Cotino Bay Beach, Dining and Shops is also planned, integrating shopping and restaurants into the lagoon setting. While construction is ongoing, the first residents have already begun moving in, and portions of the community and club facilities are currently open.
